A miniature Holmes. That is fantastic.
Who are you?
“Are you trying to deduce my intentions? Adorable,” she stifles a giggle. What this boy didn’t know, then held out her paint covered hands. “See. I’m a painter, I have little to nothing to do with Moriarty. Why did you jump so quickly to that conclusion?”
Hamish raised an eyebrow, “Perfect.” He stated. Hamish was clever, being a child prodigy it came with the package. He didn’t put her past working with Moriarty, but her response would judge whether his statement was true or false. “You’re lying. That could be fine, if you lied well. You’re obviously a painter, yet you aren’t a professional. Obvious. My fathers obviously didn’t send you, if they did you wouldn’t have paint on your hands. Someone as prestigious as me, you’d be nervous. This was chance, but you knew who I was, that means you must be well versed with my life. Moriarty. I highly doubt you work with him directly, but you have some ties. Your clothes are merely a costume, you’re not as innocent as you look. Obvious. And just one more thing. I’m not adorable.”
Hamish learned to play the BBC Sherlock theme when he was five years old on piano.
Hamish will forget to eat for days before finding himself hungry and wandering into the kitchen.
Hamish may be small and adorable, but he has serious problems with physical contact. He hates it, if you pick him up he’ll immediately have a distrust of you and become very cautious. Let him come to you. If you pick him up or touch him in any way, he’s going to freak out.
He’s been bullied his entire life, it’s just his natural reaction to contact.
Hamish rarely calls Sherlock “dad/daddy”, it’s usually father. It’s a way for him to differentiate between the two men. However, when he’s sick or scared and Sherlock is around, Sherlock becomes “Daddy”. He truly doesn’t prefer one over the other.
The reason that Hamish has a problem with being called “adorable”, is when he was about five, and already in primary school, a couple of kids ganged up on him. They called him the “Adorable little freak” and then proceeded to beat the crap out of him. That’s when he started learning how to fight and be able to defend himself. Ever since, terms of endearment, like “cute” and “adorable”, seemed condescending to him. He’s a strong little boy, but when people baby him, he gets seriously offended, and angry.
Molly and John are the only two people he trusts enough to allow terms of endearments.
Sherlock always felt guilty for the way he treated Molly, so he glorified her to Hamish. Hamish, feeling a sense of need to treat the woman a bit better, showed her nothing but the utmost respect. Which is why he’ll call her “Miss Molly” and “ma’am” and allow her to call him more terms of endearment than anyone else.
A lot of people think that Hamish never had a childhood because of his intelligence, but that’s wrong. He looks up to John more because John showed him that even if he’s bloody brilliant, he can still have fun and be a kid. John takes him to zoos and shows him that it’s okay to be a kid and let loose.
Hamish is always trying to be Sherlock that it takes someone like John to remind him he’s still a kid, and he still has time.
